Let's start from the top.
It's definitely all Amie's fault.
In 2020, Barbie asked Amie for a book, any book, to get her into reading. Barbie had never been a book lover, but, had contributed immensely to Amie's page addiction. Amie handed her a very questionable book with the words "You'll either love it or hate it, but it will give me a starting point." Spoiler alert: She loved it.
Now, let's jump to 2025. Both Amie and Barbie are full-blown Book-Dragons. Barbie returned the reading favor by getting Amie into audiobooks. They had always thought it would be so neat if they could turn their love of reading into more than just a hobby, and began bouncing around the idea of starting a pop-up shop containing all things book-related. From stickers and decals to shirts and purses, they knew how to make it all. However, living in a very small town in Western Kentucky, they didn't think that would go over well.
Then something crazy happened: Amie mentioned to a friend, who owned a local business, that she and Barbie had always dreamed of a bookish shop. The friend, a firm supporter in all things chaos-driven, said, "Do it. Set up for the fair in my shop. Whenever you're ready."
Amie called Barbie to tell her that next year they would have to set up in her shop, but we couldn't possibly do this in less than 3 days. barbie agreed and said next year.
Less than 10 minutes later, Barbie called back and said, "We can so do this."
A whirlwind of 72 hours later, and The B.A. Bookish Boutique was launched!
Just a few months after that, and we are bringing B.A. to everyone!
